Free Jazz Concert

The internationally acclaimed U.S. Army Jazz Ambassadors will present a free public performance on Nov. 7, co-sponsored by College of Southern Idaho and the Times-News.

The Twin Falls performance will include "Moon River," "Beyond the Sea," "88 Basie Street" and "God Bless America," among other tunes.

See The Sights

Intermittently, we will post a "See the Sights" entry with a place that all people in and around the area should definitely visit...or visit again...and again...if you have already been there. If you have a place you love please send an e-mail or leave a comment telling us all about it.

You know you are from the Magic Valley if you have had someone exclaim to you "Did you know that Balanced Rock fell down today!" "What??!?!" "Just Kidding!"...sooooo

Our first "See The Sights" is the infamous Balanced Rock!Location: Buhl , ID
South Central Idaho, W. of Twin Falls
Directions: Follow the signs from Buhl to Castleford, then drive 6 mi. NW through farmland to Balanced Rock

The best part it is FREE and fun for the whole family! For the older kids and adults wear sturdy shoes for hiking up to the rock! Pack a picnic and make a day out of it! For younger adventurers you could make a treasure hunt activity to have them search around the area for rocks or plants or even take a few of your own treasures and hide them in simple areas for them to discover.

Have you been to Balanced Rock? Tell us how about your experiences!
